About me
I am a registered veterinary specialist in emergency medicine and critical care. I work in clinical service in The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University, teach veterinary undergraduates and conduct research on topics relevant to animal and human health.
I completed my undergraduate veterinary studies here at Murdoch in 2009, receiving a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery with first class merit honours. I then continued at Murdoch, starting my clinical career in the veterinary hospital’s emergency service. After 3 years of after-hours service, I began my specialist training at Murdoch with a specialty traineeship (2013) and residency (2014-2017) in veterinary emergency and critical care. During this process, I also achieved a Graduate Diploma in Adult and Tertiary Education (2013), Membership of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (2013), and a Masters of Veterinary Clinical Studies (2015). My clinical training concluded in 2017 when I became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. I obtained my PhD in 2023 with a thesis entitled 'Adverse effects of synthetic colloid fluids in dogs'.
