About me

Dr Craig McIntosh joined the Personalised Medicine Centre’s (formerly Centre for Molecular Medicine and Innovative Therapeutics) Molecular Therapy Laboratory led by Professors Steve Wilton and Sue Fletcher in 2016 where his PhD focused on the use of antisense therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases. Craig then continued as a postdoctoral fellow with Steve and Dr May Aung-Htut where over the course of four years he gained hands-on experience in the design and use of antisense therapeutics. The knowledge gained during this period paved the way for Craig to move to California where he is currently Assistant Director of Research at the n-Lorem Foundation, a global leader in developing antisense therapeutics for patients with nano-rare disorders – diseases so rare that they only affect 1 to 30 people worldwide. The Foundation is at the very forefront in developing therapeutics for this chronically under-serviced group of patients. In his new role, Craig leads a sub-team of junior scientists and assists the Director in leading n-Lorem’s Design and Discovery.
