About me

Dr. Erin K. Howie's research focuses on children's physical activity, encompassing the measurement of complex movement behaviours, including physical activity, sedentary behaviour, screen use, and sleep; the examination of movement behaviour trajectories across the lifespan and their impact on physical and mental health; and the development and evaluation of interventions to improve physical activity and health literacy, from early childhood programs to multimedia-based initiatives. Her current research centres on enhancing the quality of physical activity opportunities within educational settings. This includes investigating the implementation of physical activity policies in schools and leading the implementation of an Exercise is Medicine referral program within higher education.
