About me
Dr. Wang's broad research focus lies in AI, machine learning, and deep learning, with an interest in their interdisciplinary applications, such as medical machine learning and precision agriculture. She received a joint Ph.D. degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in 2018 prior to joining Murdoch.
Her recent research focuses on developing cutting edge methods for learning from complex and imperfect data and learning environments and achieving model robustness and explainability. She has published high quality research papers in journals such as IEEE TCYB, IEEE TFS, IEEE SMC, and IEEE JBHI.
Dr. Wang’s research has been recognized and supported by various funding bodies, including Google Research; the Western Australia Govt. Department of Health Future Health Research & Innovation Fund (through multiple schemes); the Department of JTSI; Healthway Exploratory Research; the Australian Govt. MRFF, HK I&T Fund, Germany DAAD, and MU Vice Chancellor's Grant (totaling ~2.2 million AUD). She has served as the chapter chair in the IEEE Western Australia section since 2021. She received the Google Inclusion Research Award, and Google Academic Research Award.
