About me

My research focuses on two main areas: (1) the ecology and health of aquatic environments (mainly estuaries) and (2) the management of fisheries and their restoration and enhancement. In community ecology, I aim to understand linkages between fish and invertebrate communities and complex suites of environmental drivers and develop indices of estuarine health. In fisheries, I have been involved in determining the biological characteristics of important species, aquaculture-based enhancement (i.e. the production of fish in aquaculture and release into the environment), restoration of shellfish habitats, the provision and evaluation of artificial reefs and understanding the social and economic dimensions of commercial and recreational fishing.
