About me

Associate Professor Jenna Woods is a Wardandi Noongar woman with family connections to the South West and the Dean of the School of Indigenous Knowledges. Jenna has been at Murdoch University since 2010, first as a student and then a teaching-focused academic, now leading a team of Aboriginal academics to strategically integrate Indigenous Knowledges within Murdoch's offerings.

Jenna’s background is political science and community development with her key interest being how Indigenous and Western knowledge systems and leaders interact with one another to deliver best practice across the political, institutional and social spheres.

Under Associate Professor Woods’ academic leadership, the School of Indigenous Knowledges has experienced significant growth and integration across the Murdoch University curriculum.

Her key areas of interest include Indigenous leadership, Truth-Telling initiatives, the interface between Indigenous and non-Indigenous knowledge systems, Aboriginal women’s and children’s interests, gender relations and social justice.
