About me

Prof. Ma is an aquatic ecologist and environmental scientist whose research integrates freshwater ecology, environmental assessment, and sustainable aquaculture innovation. Prof. Ma holds a PhD in Aquatic Science from Murdoch University and has extensive experience across research, government, and environmental management sectors.

His research focuses on freshwater invertebrate ecology, aquatic ecosystem health, and the development of smart aquaculture systems for native species such as marron (Cherax cainii) and yabbies (Cherax destructor). Prof. Ma also collaborates on projects related to freshwater biodiversity conservation, water resource management, and restoration ecology.
