About me

I am a Senior Lecturer in Asian Cultures and Societies in the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at Murdoch University. My primary research area focuses on the Sociology of work and employment including the gig economy and the future of work. I have written about gig economy, migration, poverty governance, urban marginality, housing and place-based disadvantage. I am a mixed-methods researcher with extensive experience in conducting and publishing qualitative, quantitative and digital research and working with multidisciplinary teams that include stakeholders from academia, industry and local, state and federal governments.

I am a Fellow in the Melbourne Centre for Cities. I am also an Affiliate Fellow in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Children and Families over the Life Course (Life Course Centre).
