About me
I am a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) in Veterinary Dermatology and a registered specialist in veterinary dermatology. I have designed and taught the dermatology curriculum to veterinary students at Murdoch University for the past twenty years. I joined the University academic staff in 2017 as an Associate Professor in Small Animal Medicine (Dermatology) and received recognition from the Vice Chancellor for three consecutive years in recognition for being in the top 10% of teaching staff for Teaching and Excellence in Learning.
I am the Associate Dean of Quality and Standards in the School of Veterinary Medicine and part of the Executive team of the School of Veterinary Medicine. I am a member of the Board of Studies and School Board and Veterinary Academic Committee and Chair of the Assessment Sub Committee and an elected member of the Murdoch University Academic Council.
A deep personal commitment to working for the good of students, veterinary practitioners, animals and society informs all my work. I value being able to make a difference and find reward in the challenge of finding creative and practical solutions to difficult problems.
I am a past President of the Council of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) and served on the ANZCVS Council and Board of Examiners as President and Chief Examiner for over ten years. I am the recipient of two Presidential Awards for my service to the College.
I have been a member of the World Association for Veterinary Dermatology (WAVD) and served as Secretary, President of the World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology and Australian and New Zealand representative over the past 15 years. American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology. I am a current past-President, Chair of the Scholarship Committee and serving as the ANZCVS representative.
