About me

Mary-Anne is an astute media, journalism, public relations, and communications professional with 20 years of industry and academia experience. She possesses an extensive tertiary background predominately in media, communications, strategic communications and journalism, and has just completed her PhD, titled: The Claremont Serial Killings: Journalism as Ritual.

Included in this, she has taken part in several research projects investigating disability in the arts sector, disability and the use of the social media platform, TikTok, which included surveys, focus groups, and semi-structured interviews for data collection.

She was part of the ARC-funded project through Monash University in the Culture of Implementing Freedom of Information in Australia and was the West Australian-based researcher for the project.
