About me
I am the Academic Chair of Post Graduate courses in the School of Nursing, coordinating the Master and Graduate Certificate of Health Care Management. I oversee the coordination of the Graduate Certificates in Gerontological Health Care, Contemporary Mental Health Care, Advanced Wound Care and Cancer Nursing. In 2026, I teach into Health Care Management and Cancer Nursing.
My PhD research focuses on the insights of new graduate registered nurses during their transition from student to professional clinical practice. The findings highlight the need for appropriate leadership and mentorship and that learning is experiential.
Since then, my research areas of interest include leadership, quality and patient safety, and informing health policy through work with the Australian College of Nursing.
I am also an affiliate academic with the Centre for Nursing Research at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, leading the cancer research stream of research.
