About me
I'm currently Lecturer in Business at Murdoch University's Singapore Campus. Prior to this I held faculty positions at the University of Lancaster in the United Kingdom (2013-2021) and SP Jain School of Global Management in Singapore (2021-2023).
My teaching experience is comprehensive and international in scope. I have taught at all levels of study in higher education - undergraduate, postgraduate (research and taught) and executive education - working with students across Europe and Asia and attaining consistently strong teaching evaluations. Subjects I teach include leadership, management, change management, organizational behaviour, negotiations and international business. I have taken on leadership roles in teaching, coordinating both units and programs. Currently I serve as Discipline Lead for Business at Murdoch Singapore. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, United Kingdom and hold professional qualifications in academic practice, training and coaching.
I am a qualitative researcher with a deep and abiding interest in leadership studies, especially informed by interpretivist, constructionist and critical perspectives that seek to go beyond leader-centred depictions of the topic. Specific interests are;
1) Entrepreneurial Leadership - This is a long-standing interest, and I have published in journals such as the Journal of Management History and Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development.
2) Digital technologies/transformation and leadership - I am especially interested in moving beyond leader-centred accounts of these phenomena using theoretical resources such as Actor Network Theory.
3) Responsible Leadership in Asia Pacific - Current work explores this in the context of the Green Economy.
I am keen to collaborate with researchers in the above areas, and open to supervising postgraduate research on the above topics as well.
