About me

I am a molecular microbiologist; my research is centred on genome architecture and gene expression in microbes of significant agricultural or environmental importance. Regulation of gene expression occurs in many more ways than one can imagine, and this area has always fascinated me. To have a global understanding of gene regulation, I have focussed my research on the following area

· Construction of genetic tools to study regulated genes.

· Mechanisms of stress tolerance in microorganisms

· Studies on the expression of regulated genes.

· Structural and functional genomics

· Mechanism of lateral gene transfer in bacteria
