About me

Bec is a Registered Nurse and lecturer with more than fifteen years of experience in emergency nursing. Her clinical background informs both her teaching and research, which centre on the complexities of practice in high-acuity settings. She is currently undertaking a PhD that examines the impact of ambiguity on the professional and personal lives of emergency nurses, exploring how uncertainty shapes professional identity, wellbeing, and ethical engagement in care.

Her academic interests include neuroinclusive learning, simulation-based education, psychological safety, and the design of innovative, equitable learning environments. Bec has experience supervising post-graduate honours research and contributes to ongoing Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) projects that advance inclusive and reflective approaches to nursing education.

She is a member of the College of Emergency Nursing Australasia (CENA), the Australian and New Zealand Association for Health Professional Educators (ANZAHPE), and the Australian Nurse Teachers Society (ANTS). Bec also serves on the International Advisory Committee of the Emergency Nursing Association (ENA), contributing to global discussions on the development of emergency nursing practice and education.
