About me
Dr Ruri Ueda is a Lecturer in Japanese Studies. She received her PhD from the Australian National University. Her research focuses on second language learning and teaching, with particular interests in speech perception and production, second language phonetic learning, pronunciation instruction, and individual differences in language learning. Her work explores how learners acquire and process speech sounds in a second/foreign language and the factors that contribute to successful language learning outcomes. Drawing on insights from second language acquisition research, she develops and promotes evidence-based approaches to language teaching.
In addition to her teaching and research, she serves as the Exchange Program Coordinator for Japanese Studies, supporting both inbound and outbound students. She is committed to supporting students in developing their linguistic, intercultural, and professional competencies through language education and exchange opportunities.
