About me
Sascha Fuller is an environmental anthropologist and development practitioner whose research examines the entangled challenges of climate change, plastic pollution, biodiversity loss, and hunger, and their intersection with international development and context-specific sociocultural values and practices. Drawing on long-term ethnographic fieldwork in Nepal and the Pacific Islands region, and grounded in political ecologies, critical development studies, and feminist theory, her work bridges science and society to inform global, regional, and national policy and to advance equitable and locally led sustainable development.
Sascha welcomes prospective PhD candidates whose work engages these themes, especially those who wish to partner with international development agencies, non-government organisations, regional bodies, national governments, and/or communities in the Pacific Islands region and Nepal and the Himalaya. Sascha's interest lies in supervision that interrogates the drivers of environmental crisis and critically analyses pressing sustainability and international development challenges while advancing real-world, locally led change.
