About me

My research focuses on the genomic surveillance of drug-resistant microbial pathogens and deciphering the mechanisms of resistance to last-line antibiotics using molecular techniques. I work on an array of microorganisms including Enterococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Neisseria spp., and E. coli.

I work closely with The Australian Group on Antimicrobial Resistance (AGAR) and perform the genomics analyses for their antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance programs on methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) and E. faecium causing bacteraemia.

Currently, I am the Chair of the Western Australian branch of the Australian Society for Microbiology and the International Young Ambassador representing Australia at the American Society for Microbiology.
