I have a broad and diverse range of research interests, with a primary focus on the theory and applications of stochastic processes, particularly within the engineering sciences. Over the years, I have developed specialized stochastic models to describe degradation processes in mechanical and complex systems, which are directly applied to maintenance optimization, improving system performance and reliability.
In the life sciences, I am committed to advancing innovative methodologies for analyzing lifetime data, including the use of cure models in survival analysis. I have also explored the fascinating field of random polynomials, where my research has had significant practical applications in civil engineering, especially in modeling infrastructure designs such as roads and buildings. These models are also pivotal in predicting traffic patterns, which help optimize traffic control systems like traffic lights. Beyond engineering, polynomials play an important role in economics, helping model economic growth trends, and in medical research, where they assist in understanding bacterial behavior.
Additionally, I have conducted substantial research on the Poisson-Dirichlet process and its generalizations, further enriching the theoretical and applied understanding of stochastic models.
Currently, my research interests extend into data science, with a focus on ensemble learning techniques for classifying high-dimensional data -an area I am deeply exploring and excited to develop further.
