About me

Dr. Ummara Fatima is an accounting academic with over seven years of tertiary education experience. She holds a PhD in Management Accounting from Edith Cowan University (ECU). Her research focuses on corporate governance, climate risk disclosure, and corporate social responsibility, with 13 publications in reputable outlets, including the ABDC A-ranked Meditari Accountancy Research and the SJR Q1 journal Corporate Governance: The International Journal of Business in Society.

Ummara gained extensive teaching experience across both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, delivering a range of accounting and finance courses at Murdoch University and ECU. Prior to moving to Australia, she served as an Assistant Professor at Minhaj University in Pakistan, where she developed substantial experience in curriculum delivery, student supervision, and academic mentoring. Ummara is an active member of the academic community. She also contributes to scholarly service as a reviewer for the prestigious Meditari Accountancy Research (ABDC/A) and The Canadian Academic Accounting Association Annual Conference 2025.
