About me

I am a Senior Lecturer in Nursing and a registered nurse in Australia, holding dual registration in Adult and Mental Health Nursing in the United Kingdom. My clinical and academic career spans more than 35 years across healthcare, higher education and research in the United Kingdom and Australia.

My passion is nursing education and supporting students to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for contemporary healthcare practice. I have extensive experience teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programs, with expertise in mental health, leadership, professional practice, communication and healthy ageing. I also supervise Higher Degree by Research students and support the development of early career researchers.

My research interests include mental health, menopause and women's health, healthy ageing, nursing practice, healthcare education and workforce development. Using qualitative approaches, I explore people's lived experiences of health and healthcare. My doctoral research examined women's experiences of natural menopause, an area that continues to inform my scholarship, publications and policy engagement.

As a Fellow of Advance HE (UK), I am committed to fostering curiosity, critical thinking and evidence-informed practice. I value collaboration, mentorship and creating meaningful learning experiences that advance nursing knowledge and improve health outcomes.
