Abstract

Sterile explants of E. radiata stipe were grown on modified M&S [1] and PES [2J media, at 250C in continuous white light (50 µE.m-2.sec-1). Growth, although slow, occurred in several forms:- (1) lightly pigmented filamentous and callus-like growth from the cut surfaces of the cortex and medulla; (2) deeply pigmented filamentous and callus-like growth from centres within the explant.
