Abstract

In waterlogged (hypoxic) soils a combination of altered host physiology and increased zoospore motility is thought to pre-dispose roots of E. marginata to infection by P. cinnamomi. However, we have found that roots of E. marginata are less susceptible to infection after 6 days of hypoxia. In the present study, the effect of 2-29 days of hypoxia was examined on the susceptibility of E. marginata roots to infection by P. cinnamomi.
