Abstract
Academic advisors are vital for student success but face poor physical and mental well-being. This study examines a pilot trial of walking advising meetings and describes their acceptability, barriers, and facilitators from advisor and student perspectives. This three-phase mixed-methods design consisted of a randomized crossover trial with walking advising meetings, explorative interviews with participating advisors, and a student interest survey. Overall, advisors and students positively viewed walking advising meetings with recommendations for implementation.
