Zeitlicher-Fokus-Skala (ZFS)

2018
Abstract
The temporal focus describes the amount of attention people pay to the temporal categories past, present and future. In contrast to the related construct of the time perspective, the authors of the Temporal Focus Scale (TFS) assume that different temporal focuses are independent dimensions. This documentation contains the translation and adaptation process of the English-language TFS into German and presents initial results on its reliability and validity. In addition to the three subscales "past", "present" and "own future", a scale relevant to sustainability research "distant future" is developed and tested, which focuses on future periods beyond one's own life.
