About me

I teach and research in early childhood studies.

My work explores young children’s worldly relations within their social and material environments. I am interested in children’s situated experiences within local contexts that include materials, places and nonhuman others.

I am particularly interested in generating liveable, sustainable, and ethical pedagogies in the context of planetary change.

I work with participatory methodologies and draw on theoretical perspectives which help me to pay attention to entangled human and more-than-human relations, and to think collectively with the world. I also draw on many years of experience as an early childhood teacher in Australia, and my long-term engagement the educational project of Reggio Emilia in Italy.
