About me

I am the Associate Dean (Post-Graduate Studies) in the School of Education at Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia. I have extensive experience in higher education and have taught mathematics at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. I earned a PhD in Mathematics Education from the University of Warwick, with my research supervised by Emeritus Professor David Tall and examined by Emeritus Reader Tim Rowland from the University of Cambridge, UK.

Before joining the School of Education at Murdoch University, I held academic positions at Edith Cowan University, Flinders University, the University of Melbourne, and Universiti Malaysia Sabah. During my time at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, University of Melbourne, I was involved in an ARC Discovery Project that investigated university students’ confusion with mathematical symbols. My research interests include mathematics education, with a particular focus on mathematical thinking, Dyscalculia and STEM education.
