About me

I am a wildlife ecophysiologist and Research Associate with the WEEP Lab. Working across terrestrial and marine environments, I study mammals and birds, with a particular interest in the physiological adaptations that allow wildlife to inhabit specialised environments and whether these adaptations confer resilience to changing and extreme environmental conditions.

Taking a holistic approach, I integrate physiological, behavioural, and ecological perspectives into my research. This spans individual-level processes, including thermoregulation, energy expenditure, and heart rate variability, through to broader ecological questions relating to movement, habitat use, and anthropogenic influences. My work combines field- and laboratory-based approaches and is supported by collaborations with researchers and institutions across Australia and internationally.

My broader aim is to advance understanding of wildlife to inform wildlife conservation and management, sustainable energy initiatives, and education.

I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, with experience in tertiary teaching and coordination. Evidence-informed teaching approaches underpin my presentations and guest lectures, with an emphasis on supporting learning and engagement.
