Samiul Hossain

My research focuses on establishing links between emotion regulation and wellbeing. These links are studied from both ends; I try to understand how downregulation of negative emotions is associated with mental health symptoms, and how upregulation of positive emotions is associated with wellbeing. I have a keen interest in assessing these links in traditionally underrepresented population (e.g., Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD), indigenous communities). My research interests also inform my practice as a psychologist. I utlise the insights I gain through research in my working with clients to ameliorate their wellbeing.
