About me

A neurophysiologist by training, I am an Associate Professor of Physiology and the Associate Dean Learning and Teaching in the School of Medical, Molecular and Forensic Sciences at Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia. I am nationally and internationally recognised for my excellence and leadership in tertiary science education. My research spans the domains of neuroscience (modifying the function of brain networks using transcranial magnetic stimulation) and science education (innovation in physiology education, first year education and the undergraduate teaching of quantitative skills). I judge my own work by my ability to create teaching environments that are responsive to and exalt in student diversity, motivated by the goals of building community and providing pathways to success for all my students.
