About me
My research priority is to discover and characterise biodiversity of parasitic animals in wildlife. I focus especially on parasites of marine fishes in the Indian Ocean and West Pacific region. Through this research I seek to improve classification of parasites, understand evolutionary histories and explore patterns of biogeography and host-specificity. Parasites are a fascinating and under-appreciated assortment of critters. They probably represent both the greatest component of animal biodiversity which remains unknown to science, and the greatest proportion of species which will be lost to extinction without ever being detected.
