Dataset
Date collected 30/06/2016–01/01/2023
The datasets containing multiple phenotypic traits (including grain weight, plant height, and grain plumpness at different screening levels) collected from 2017 to 2019 across multiple field trials across Western Australia. These datasets were outputs of the GRDC funded project UMU00049.
Dataset
Barley grain defects project (phenotype datasets)
Date collected 01/07/2015–30/06/2019
The datasets containing phenotypic data of over 70 traits related to grain quality during the period from 2012 to 2016 in Esperance, Katanning and Merredin. These datasets were outputs of the GRDC funded project UMU00047.
Dataset
Reduce barley head loss and straw breakage by genetics and management (phenotype data)
Date collected 30/06/2011–30/06/2017
The dataset contains phenotype data focused on head loss and straw breakage, collected in Esperance, Katanning, and Geraldton from 2011 to 2014. This was the output of the GRDC-funded project: UMU00051 - DAW00246 Reduce barley head loss and straw breakage by genetics and management. Headloss is a problem in barley when the crop/plants are unable to withstand the environmental conditions once the head has developed and the plant reaches physiological maturity. It is at this final stage of plant development that the greatest structural forces are imposed on the head (and plant) when interacting with environmental conditions. The understanding of this interaction and identifying genetic components in barley cultivars that enable greater head retention is the main focus of this research project.
