Optimizing Hydrogen Integration in Renewable Energy-Based Microgrids
School of Engineering and Energy
2024–2027This project focuses on tackling the optimization challenges faced by integrating hydrogen in off-grid microgrids. It develops a multi-objective optimization model to evaluate various microgrid configurations, including photovoltaics, wind turbines, batteries, hydrogen storage, and diesel generators under different scenarios. The goal is to improve energy efficiency, minimize costs, and enhance reliability.

School of Engineering and Energy
This project draws on the responses of a 2021 survey of more than 330 engineering students and engineering graduates sharing their experiences during industry placements. The work aims to present and compare findings from female (and male) survey participants' survey results, and to describe the perceptions of female (and male) participants of the quality of their placement experiences and perceived benefits. The work will assist in furthering discussion between Engineers Australia, Australian Universities and industry on how to improve female (and male) student engagement with professional practice for both students and industry in Australia. This collaborative work with Dr Gloria Odo and Dr Jolanta Symakowski is expected to contribute to enhanced inclusive engineering education at Murdoch University.
